Northern Ireland’s very own Christmas Market in Belfast has topped a list of the top ten Christmas markets in the UK. The list provided by the Mirror has Belfast taking the top spot beating big cities like Birmingham, Edinburgh, London with Bath rounding out the top 5.
With it being the year of Food and Drink in Northern Ireland, this news about the market, which is located at Belfast city hall and opens this year next week (November 19 – December 22nd) can only bring the fantastic food and drink Northern Ireland to the forefront. Never mind the wide variety of different food and drink – both sweet and savoury- that the Christmas market has to offer each year.
According to the article by The Mirror, “Those with a sweet tooth can take a trip down the aptly titled Candy Alley, and children can visit Santa at his grotto. The market also operates a buddy scheme which gives those with reduced mobility easier access to the stalls during quiet periods.”
Belfast’s annual Christmas market draws very large crowds to the city centre and this year looks to be no different. For those living outside the city, hotels based in Belfast have some great Christmas offers meaning tourists will not only get to experience the market but Belfast during the festive period. The market has also become a popular location for office Christmas parties or at least a great festive base to start.
