The picturesque landing strip at Donegal Airport has been recognised on a international scale by being voted one of the world’s most beautiful approaches in a global poll of travel experts and fans.
The airport, taking seventh place, was beaten to the top spot by Malta International Airport who topped the poll which was conducted by private jet booking service PrivateFly however it did beat more famous approaches including Los Angeles LAX and St. Maarten in the Caribbean.

Set between ocean and mountains at Carrickfinn, in the Gaeltacht region of Rosses/Gweedore, Donegal Airport operates twice daily flights to Dublin, and a four-times weekly service to Glasgow, both by Aer Lingus Regional.
