We all love a good bargain, especially when it comes to a nice getaway when you come away feeling you got most from your money. Well this will be music to our ears as a list of the top destinations that have the best value has been created according to figures that have been released by the Post Office. The list is based on on the cost of essential items for travellers in popular travel.
For the first time in five years, the Algarve region of Portugal claimed the top spot for best value for money for UK tourists with Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach coming in at a close second place. In terms of best value in long-haul destinations, Cape Town have beaten Bali in the top ten with Bali coming in at eighth.
Last year’s champion Prague will be disappointed to know that they have slipped down the list to seventh place due to their rising cost in eating out with Budapest beating them in sixth place. Surprisingly, due to weak currency rates and falling prices have let Japan make the budget list with prices in Tokyo being 15% lower than they were in 2015.
